Application and Description
The MVTR 51 multi-shot, three phase
auto-reclose relay is designed for use
on medium voltage distribution or
transmission systems. A block diagram
is shown in Figure 2. A typical
application is shown in Figure 3.
Sequence control and timing functions
are performed by a microprocessor.
Different operating cycles and timer
settings are simply selected by using a
keypad on the relay frontplate.
All settings and scheme operations are
clearly shown on a liquid crystal
display ( lcd) . Two standard scheme
software versions are available; 401
logic for distance protection and 601
logic for overcurrent/ earth fault
protection. Details of the scheme
software are given in the relay Service
Manual. ( Publication R- 8057) .
