This instrument consists of a ferraris induction movement. The pointer can turn in both rotating directions. If the pointer turns to direction „ + “ the frequency of generator G2 is higher than the one of G1. The pointer only stands at the top if frequency and phasing of both current circuits are the same. If it stands still outside of the mark, the frequences are indeed conform but the voltages aren’ t in phase.
